New Battletech and Shadowrun Street Dates

According to the Catalyst Game Labs web site, the Battletech Technical Readout: 3058 Upgrade reprint hit the street on June 8, 2011.  This supplement has been fully updated to circa 3070 and is a Catalyst-branded reprint with a new cover and including all appropriate errata (but no other changes).

The following items will release on July 6, 2011:

  • Shadowrun Spy Games “brings Shadowrun players to the espionage-filled city of Denver, where secrets are bought and sold, and sometimes the price is paid in blood.”  This book provides the setting information, gear statistics, and game rules players need to dive into the Sixth World spycraft.
  • Battletech HexPack: Cities and Roads is a flexible map system aid for the BattleTech game system.  Designed for use in conjunction with other pre-printed map sheets, it contains two ready-to-play scenarios.
  • Shadowrun Arsenal:  This sourcebook covers everything a runner team needs, from weapons and armor to advanced electronics and spy toys to the latest state-of-the-art drones.  It is a corrected third printing, and other than the corrections the cover is the only difference.

The following items are planned for July 20 release:

  • BattleTech Era Report: 3062 describes the state of the Inner Sphere and the Clans at a divisive period in BattleTech history.  Presented as a general overview of the period rather than a focused report, the book includes descriptions of major factions, notable personalities, military forces, etc.
  • Shadowrun Runner’s Toolkit is a well-stocked arsenal all runners should have.  It includes a deluxe four-panel gamemaster’s screen, On the Run – one of Shadowrun’s most popular introductory adventures, 4 laminated maps, a poster of the Sixth World Seattle skyline, and more.

Catalyst Publishing “Masters & Minions” BattleTech Books

On July 3, Catalyst Game Labs posted an announcement about the upcoming release of a BattleTech “Masters & Minions” sourcebook. They describe it as a “book of important personalities” for that BattleTech universe. According to Randall N. Bills, the Managing Developer, “A personality-heavy sourcebook is always a great time to provide a ‘status of the universe’ update. This is even more important with A Time of War: The BattleTech RPG publishing this fall. As a second entry point (a scifi RPG) to the BattleTech universe (after the Introductory Box Set, the boardgame entry point), having a single product that provides a ‘this is where the universe is at’ is important.” For more information, see the full announcement on their site.
