Capitan Games announced that they are working on Master & Commander FRIGATES, a new game based on their naval rules system. They have scaled down and focused on the fourth, fifth, sixth, and unrated ships of the combat navies of the 18th century and Napoleonic Wars. Players will be able to recreate the naval combat of the super-frigates, rasees, frigates, corvettes, sloops of war, and cutters. They are working in ships from the Royal Navy, Spain, France, Dutch, and United States navies.

3CG Releases Tannenberg 1914
Three Crowns Game Productions (3CG) recently released Tannenberg 1914, a brigade and division level wargame covering the battle of Tannenberg and the Masurian Lakes in August 1914 between Germany and Russia.
Victory Point Games Needs Playtesters
The Victory Point Games web site announced that they need playtesters for their upcoming For the Crown game. In For the Crown, civil war has broken out between two royal brothers over the succession to the throne of the kingdom, and the people must choose sides and go to war. Players gather resources, train an army, and capture the rival King. See their web site for more information and instructions on how to become a playtester.
Victory Point Games is also taking pre-orders for Fading Glory, the second game that GMT is producing as part of their strategic partnership with Victory Point Games. It’s number 20 in the Napoleonic series.
Oregon Consimgames Playtest at ConsimWorld Expo
The Oregon Consim Games web site announced a playtest of their newest simulation "1914: Offensive a outrance, The Western Front in WWI" at Consimworld Expo in Tempe in June. This will be the third time they’ve playtested this title there. It’s a brigade/division level model of the battles fought in Belgium, France, and Germany from August through mid-November 1914. The playtest spots are filled but attendees can drop by to take a look.

DVG Wargames Update
Dan Verssen Games (DVG) says things are on track for their Field Commander Napoleon game. They’ve posted the latest rulebook and box back. If you were planning to pre-order this title, time is officially running out. Modern Naval Battles and the Expansion are expected to be going to the printers next week. U-Boat Leader will be heading to the printers in about a month.

- GMT Games has posted final or near-final versions of the rulebooks for Sekigahara and Sun of York.
- Jeux Grenier Games is reducing its catalog, getting rid of a number of titles that includes: Distant Foreign Fields, Quelques Arpents de Neige, Operation Weserubung, In the Trenches: Opening Engagements, and In the Trenches: The Lost Generation.
- HPS Simulations has released (in the past few months): PzC Budapest v1.02, Renaissance v1.03, Gallic Wars v1.06, Punic Wars v1.08, and Naval Campaigns: Jutland v1.06.
- It was sad to hear of the recent troubles experienced by Pacific Rim Publishing, involving deaths in the family, a web site crash, etc. I wish them the best. Pacific Rim is a great company, with a very high ethical standard, and deserves all the business it can get.
