- Random Encounters has released its micro-game Deniable Asset: Hiding in the Mosque for free download through their E-Store. It’s a prelude to their upcoming Deniable Asset espionage game.
- Palladium Books announced that Rifts: Vampire Kingdoms is now shipping.
- Skirmisher Publishing has posted a thought-provoking entry on Gen Con 2011, in which they discuss how smaller publishers were treated this year, and how the company’s sales at Gen Con were 1/8 what they’ve been in past years. It’s interesting reading.
- Super Genius Games has released Codex Draconis: Red Tyrants of the Mountains. This module is Pathfinder and OGL compatible, 25 pages long, and priced at $3.99.
- Triple Ace Games released All For One: Paris Gothic in eBook form.
- Avalon Games announced the release of Horror Show, a new RPG by Bedrock Games. It’s based on terror movies and is described as perfect for one-shot adventures and full-length campaigns.
- Evil Hat Productions posted pictures from the ENnie awards during Gen Con.
- Green Ronin Publishing won three ENnies. They’ve also released Mutants & Masterminds Threat Reports #32 and #33.
- Margaret Weis Productions has announced Marvel Heroes, a family of RPG products based on the Marvel Comics universe.
- Paizo has announced the release of a new Pathfinder novel, Master of Devils by Dave Gross.

Pathfinder Advanced Players Guide in PCGen
The PCGen (open source RPG character creator) now contains the seventh and final update to the Pathfinder Advanced Player’s Guide OOC Data Set. This is a release intended to deliver the most current fixes for the Pathfinder APG data set. The file also patches the Pathfinder Role Playing Game Core Rulebook and Bestiary.

- Indie Press Revolution (IPR) has published Coronets but Never Crowns which is a Family and Politics expansion for Houses of the Blooded that shows how to let loose your powerful.
- Kenzerco reports that Hackjournal #36 is available in PDF format, and includes special pre-release material including alpha and beta rules previews for future HackMaster products.
- Palladium Books announced that Rifts Vampire Kingdoms is at the printer. They expect to have a limited number of copies at Gen Con Indy. The Rifter #55 has shipped.
- Peril Planet has slashed prices on Space Rat, The Beast of Limfjord, and The Green and the Tan via DriveThruRPG and RPGNow.
- Pinnacle Entertainment Group has finished the greens for six new minis.
- Postmortem Studios has been working on two secret projects for the last few months, one of which is Outbreak, a "choose your own adventure" style game for the iPad.
- Precis Intermedia Games has begun taking pre-orders for the softcover edition of Story Engine. Purchase now and you’ll get the PDF edition with it.

- 0One Games has released two new products. The first is a set of blueprints in the Eerie Forest line entitled Red Vampire’s Way Inn. The second is The Sinking: The Devil’s Smuggler is a short adventure written by John Ling that is set in the Great City. Also available is a basic RP conversion entitled The Spirit of the White Wyvern (which is free).
- Adamant Entertainment announced that it will be producing the Buckaroo Banzai Adventure Game, a tabletop RPG based on the movie. It’s planned for a release in the spring of 2012.
- On Thursday, the Amarillo Design Bureau posted an article on playing Star Fleet Universe games long distance.
- Avalon Games recently posted Part 3 of a multi-part Market Report talking about how print products have a lot of downsides to them (and that e-publishing also has its downside). Interesting reading if you’re thinking of publishing a PDF roleplaying product.
- The Fellowship of the White Star crew plans to be at Gen Con Indy 2011, offering two premieres (one of which is the conclusion to the Jack the Ripper series) and multiple 1908 modules.
- Goodman Games announced that the Age of Cthulu 6: A Dream of Japan will be released in November.
- Hero Games has been prepping mock-ups of their booths to maximize their use of space at Gen Con. They are also continuing the layout on The Advanced Player’s Guide and writing The Book of the Empress.
- Indie Press Revolution (IPR) has added several new products to their store recently, including Atlas Games’ Festival of the Damned Anniversary Edition, Faerie Stories (also from Atlas), Kobold Quarterly Magazine 18 (from Open Design), pre-orders for Pelgrane Press’ Out of Time and Dead Rock Seven.

- RPGObjects announced “Abandon All Hope“, a new RPG from the creator of Darwin’s World (Dominic Covey). There is no ETA yet on the release date, but GenCon attendees will have the opportunity to playtest the game on August 5 and 7.
- According to Alderac Entertainment Group (AEG), there will be an Exclusive L5R Honor Event at GenCon 2010 on August 7. According to the announcement “AEG will offer the Clans and their representatives at GenCon the chance to match their skills through a Live Performance Contest.”
- Amarillo Design Bureau’s web site posted an article today saying that “some people don’t realize that you can download what amounts to a free copy of the Federation Commander game (well, enough of the game to play a few battles).” It also says “But that’s just a start. If you join the Commander’s Circle, which is free, you can download the monthly Communique which includes scenarios, tactics, and new ships. You can also access a database of Federation Commander players looking for new opponents.”
- Goodman Games has posted an official errata document for Amethyst.

Today’s News:
- Green Ronin has extended the same pre-order discounts on PDF versions of its products that it provides to those who purchase the print products directly. This policy will start with the DC Adventures Hero’s Handbook.
- Studio 2 Publishing announced that new items are coming from Crafty Games, Sanguine Productions, and Third Eye Games. Fantasy Craft, Ironclaw: Squaring the Circle, and Wu Xing: The Ninja Crusade, are all discussed.
- RPGNow has added a number of new products, including Mongoose’s “Terror of the Darklords”, Fat Dragon Games’ EZ-Dungeon Expansion 3, White Wolf’s Prince of the City, and several more.
- Radioactive Press has posted an update about its recent activities, including playtesting some Toy Battle System games.
- Precis Intermedia Games has released Token Packs for Smiteworks’ Fantasy Grounds II software.
- Palladium Books is running its “Christmas in July” promotion until July 25.
- Chaosium will be releasing a Basic Role Playing (BRP) book “in the fall of 2010″ called The Chronicles of Future Earth.
- Amarillo Design Bureau is looking for scenarios for the Star Fleet Battles game.
- 0One Games expects to release the black and white RPG supplement Heavenring Village: The Jail tomorrow.

Board Game News:
- Fantasy Flight Games posted articles about Hordes in Deathwatch, the Harbinger of Insanity card in the Call of Cthulu card game, and a partnership with Dust Games. They also announced an upcoming board game called Cadwallon: City of Thieves, and Dust Tactics – a tactical miniatures boardgame.
- Random Line’s web site is having a Squiggle contest for a chance to win a Squiggle On-The-Go drawing pad.
Game Accessories News:
- Q-Workshop updated its home page today to indicate that the Dwarven Dice Sets are available again (or perhaps for the first time?). According to the post, “At last the dwarven artifacts lost by Quentin the Inventive have been found. You can get them through our on-line shop.”
Game Deals:
- The Paizo web site says that Jason Bulmahn sold off a huge collection of D&D Miniatures to them, and they’re in turn offering them to their customers.
Miniatures and Miniatures Games News:
- 15mm.co.uk has added “The Octopods” 15mm Sci-fi miniatures to their product line. They also note that Alien Squad Leader 2.0 is back in stock.
- Wargame Vault has added Dave Graffam Models’ High Ground Tiles 30mm paper models product to their site.
- Games Workshop has posted a Warhammer Lauch Sneak Peek on their web site.
- Mantic Games posted a video explaining how their miniatures shipping boxes double as a way to hold the miniatures when completed, making them easy to store and carry around.
- Catalyst Game Labs has received 9 ENnie Award nominations this year, for Best Art, Best Game, Best Production Values, Best Regalia, Best Writing, and more. Congratulations, Catalyst, and good work!
- Crooked Dice Game Design Studio says their Release 2 miniatures might be shipping early.
- Wargames Factory says their Shock Troops miniatures are now shipping, as are the next two Saxons sets for Hammer of the Gods.

- 0One Games has added the Heavenring Village: Emporium black and white map set to their product line.
- Adamant Entertainment’s blog indicates that they’ve received the printed books for their ICONS superhero-based RPG.
- Flames Rising has posted several articles in the last couple of days, including Notes on Designing The Queen of Crows, The Age of Ra Review, Fallen is Babylon, a New World of Darkness SAS, The Ghosts of Manhattan Review, and Damnation (PS3) Review.
- Hex Games says its site has been upgraded, including a new Wiki, calendar of events, new photo gallery software, new FAQ software, and more.
- Indie Press Revolution has added Rogue Games’ Thousand Suns: Starships supplement (on pre-order) to its catalog.
- Mongoose Publishing says Signs & Portents #82 is available for free download now.
- Pinnacle Entertainment Group posted an update about recent Deadlands material updates, including details about the second printing of Deadlands: Reloaded and Deadlands Conversion Notes.
- Precis Intermedia Games posted a blog item today indicating that they’ll be converting Disposable Heroes for use with SmiteWorks’ Fantasy Grounds II application. Fantasy Grounds II provides a virtual tabletop for RPG players, allowing them to play their favorite RPGs online.
- RPGNow has added some new products, including Dark Quest Games’ Mundus Novit: The Changed World – Source Book, Skortched Urf Studios’ The Dragonbound Core Class, Sonic Legends’ The Reaper (audio product) and City of the Dark Elves (audio product).
- Morrigan Press’ Talislanta web site is having a poll on which edition of the game is readers’ favorite. They also report that Talislanta Geographica has been made available for free download.
- Amarillo Design Bureau posted an Origins 2010 message and provided the download link for downloadable Federation Commander computer desktop wallpaper.
- Triple Ace Games says that they’ve just sent The Sundered Skies Companion for Savage Worlds to the printers, and posted a preview on their site.
- Green Ronin Publishing added ten PDFs to its 10th Anniversary Sale, including Advanced Bestiary, Freeport Trilogy: 5 Year Anniversary Edition, and more.
Retailer and Game Deal News:
- Noble Knight Games has added a number of products to their online catalog, including Fire & Movement 149, Necromancer Games’ Player’s Guide to the Wilderlands, and a number of Magic The Gathering cards.
- RPGShop has added “7 set Otherworld Crystal (Red)” (crystal shaped dice), 16mm Assorted D20 dice, and 25mm Foam d6 dice to their catalog.
- Troll and Toad has received a number of new RPG products, including The Vault of Larin Karr softcover module for d20 D&D 3.0 RPG, Raise the Dead for Sword and Sorcery, Chaos Rising for Sword and Sorcery, Fantasy Flight Games’ Wings of War: Flight of the Giants, and more.
- Greenfield Games posted information about the release of Magic The Gathering 2011 Core Set and their Summer Big Game Auction.
- Warweb.com has added several miniatures to their shop, including Indian Tepees, Dismounted US Cavalry with Command, Mounted US Cavalry with Command, Plains Indians Villagers, Dismounted Plains Warriors, and Mounted Chieftains.
- The German Boardgame Company has restocked and added several titles.
Wargame News:
- Consimpress is looking for a BEDA FOMM player to help them with a game replay to be captured and posted on the CSW forum.
- Avalanche Press is selling a dozen games at $30-$40 in honor of their boss’ birthday.
- C3i Current Ops has posted several photo diaries.
PC and Online Game News:
- Matrix Games and Forced March Games have announced a publishing agreement for Hannibal: Rome and Carthage in the Second Punic War to market.
- Paradox Interactive says that when the game ships on August 27 you’ll be able to skipper the Rainbow Warrior III a year ahead of its real-life completion in Poland. They’ve also updated their Fort Zombie lite action/RPG.
- Longbow Games has released Hegemony 1.1.2 beta 1, a release that will fix a crash which can happen in one region of Persia, as well as a crash that can happen after capturing a city. They’ve also made minor GUI changes. (I’m still looking forward to loading and playing my copy!)
- Sega announced that a Tri-Weapon Pack will be released in conjunction with the release of Vanquish on October 19, 2010.
- Battlefront is offering a bundle of Combat Mission Shock Force Marines and CMSF British for $35.00.
- World of Tanks is accepting applications for their Closed Beta test. This is a free-to-play Panzer MMO game. Looks good.
