BradyGames Releases CoD Multiplayer Strategy App

New York, NY – April 19, 2011 – BradyGames is pleased to announce its new "Call of Duty: Black Ops MP Map" App, the first officially licensed Call of Duty®: Black Ops app on the App Store, is now available for iPad, iPhone and iPod Touch. New Geek Chic Products

If you’ve been to a game convention in the last few years, you’ve probably seen the Geek Chic booth with its gorgeous wooden tables designed especially for tabletop gamers.  They recently added "The Emissary", "The Alexandria Codex", and Curio Cases to their line. 

The Emissary is a hybrid gaming and dining table.  It incorporates a dropped play surface and the Layer Cake surface from their top-end Sultan product.  It is made of solid hardwoods with quality joinery and includes a number of drawers for storing gaming items when not in use.

The Alexandria Codex is intended to provide an alternative for storing comic books in those white cardboard boxes.

Their Curio Cases are lighted display cases that allow you to take item collections out and display them in a very attractive shelving unit.

Figures in Comfort Ltd. Releases New Products

Figures in Comfort Ltd. produces foam trays and cases for wargame players.  They currently offer 7 cases in 6 colors, and 36 different tray layouts. 

In January, they released the Polemus Army Tray.  Designed in conjunction with Baccus 6mm, it holds both 60mm x 60mm and 60mm x 30mm bases and takes up one slot in a case.

They also released the Maxi figure case, which holds up to 8 half-sized trays stacked vertically.

Marvel/Capcom and Tactics Ogre Guides

BradyGames, publishers of gaming strategy guides, has released a couple of new guides.

The RPGNow site lists a number of new products, including the audio MP3 product The Temple of the Spidergod (pictured at left). 

This symphonic soundtrack is designed to accompany the iconic fantasy novel of the same name.  It’s 36 minutes long and includes an illustrated inlay card, booklet with a summary of the story, and composer notes.

Jon Brazer Enterprises Naming Products

Jon Brazer Enterprises has released some new products centered around naming items you use in your gaming activities.

The d66 Criminal Ship Names product helps you name the ship in a crime story.

d66 Prison Inmate Names helps name characters assigned to detention facilities.

d66 Vilani Names provides a full list of male and female Vilani first names as well as last names, suitable for use with Traveller.

RPG Shop–New Items

RPG Shop has a number of new items in its product catalog this month, including Tiger Blood and Adonis DNA (pictured at left), which is handy if you want to become Charlie Sheen.  (I have to admit, I couldn’t resist… I had to order some of both.)

They also have a number of interesting new dice products, including bronze, silver, and gold colored dice. 

New Products at Black Lion Decals

Black Lion Decals manufactures "decals for those models that lack them" and aims for the rarer, stranger, and more exotic ones.  If you are looking for an unusual (or even completely custom one-off) decal, they can make it for you.

They recently updated their stock, including products for Bull Models, Gramodels, Giesbers, TAS Models, and Den Bels.

GameScience Releases D-Total Dice

imageThe folks at GameScience released the "D-Total" die, which they claim serves the function of 17 different dice in one.  This 24-sided die can generate outcomes for a wide range of other dice. 

For example, for a D2, if you roll a 12 or less it’s treated as a one.  If you roll 13 or higher, it’s 2.  For D20, you read the result as-is unless it’s 21-24, in which case you roll again.  There are other instructions for simulating D3, D4, D50, etc.  See the GameScience web site for more details.

Battlefoam Offering Hordes and Warmachine Trays

Battlefoam makes customized carrying cases for miniatures gamers  They recently began offering custom trays for Privateer Press’ Warmachine and Hordes games.  Shown at left are examples. 

Battlefoam also offers custom cases and trays for Flames of War, Malifaux, Mantic, Heavy Gear Blitz, and Spartan Games.

You can also place custom orders for trays that fit the particular miniatures you game with.

Empty Room Studios’ H.P. Lovecraft’s Wonderland

According to a post on Empty Room Studios’ web site, Rick Hershey and Nikola Jajic’s graphic novel H.P. Lovecraft’s Wonderland is being launched as a kickstarter project.  By supporting this endeavor, you can not only help see it realized but you will also receive gifts from the creators. 

The graphic novel will re-tell the familiar "Alice in Wonderland" story as though H.P. Lovecraft had written it.  The first couple of pages of the graphic novel can be seen on the Empty Room Studios web site, which also includes links to the kickstarter project.

Atlas Games “Cliffourd the Big Red God”

Atlas Games has published a Cthulu mythos based parody of the "Clifford the Big Red Dog" children’s products entitled "Cliffourd the Big Red God" (see picture at left).

This 32-page book features full-color illustrations and is the third installment in the Mini Mythos series.  (Previous installments of that series were Where the Deep Ones Are and The Antarctic Express.)

The book is written by Kenneth Hite and was illustrated by Andy Hopp.  It’s due for release in July 2011.  It features a hardcover binding, gloss finish pages, and is 10 x 8.5 inches (landscape) in size.

  • Battle Foam has a Malifaux miniatures bag for sale, and says that the P.A.C.K. 1520 XL bag is in stock. They also have a referral program now, where you can get a free bag if you convince a local game store to sign up with them and sell their bags.
  • Blue Panther will be at RinCon in Tucson in October and at NeonCon in Las Vegas in November. They recently acquired a “direct wood printing” technology and expect to release a lot of interesting new products using it.
  • BradyGames is offering some new strategy guides, including guides for Castlevania: Lords of Shadow, Front Mission Evolved, Halo Reach, Kingdom Hearts: Birth by Sleep, Spider-Man Shattered Dimensions, and Mafia II.
  • Dom’s Decals says that their Wings of War Series 4 set is released and in the shop now.
  • Dragon Forge is offering conversion heads for 25-30mm heroic scale miniates.
  • Dwarven Forge has new arrivals and re-stocks available, including a new Ruins set, Cavernous Lake set, Cavern set, and more.
  • Gale Force Nine (GF9) announced Condition Zebra single fleet bases for Axis & Allies Naval Miniatures.
  • Jon Brazer Enterprises posted a preview of their d66 Compendium for Traveller, info about Pathfinder: The Kobold Ninja, and more.
  • Litko Game Accessories announced Pop Culture Tokens (featuring Epic Fail, FUBAR, NOOB, OMG, WTF, and PWNED).
  • Q-workshop has produced a movie called “Strike” that is linked on their web site, and announced several new products, including cheap classic RPG dice sets, premium 3D dice, deluxe metal dice, and more.
  • Sabol Designs has an October Deal posted, a Battalion Figure case normally retailing for $79.99 offered at $59.99. Near the end of October they expect to release the Armored Company figure case.
  • Skeleton Key Games has released e-Adventure Tiles: Encounters No. 1 and suggests that gamers check out RPGObjects Tiama on-line tile mapper that features over 3000 unique map tiles Skeleton Key created.
  • Techmod has released Spitfire IX decal sets for the Israeli Air Force and Royal Egyptian Air Force.
  • The Dial Dude has released a dial for the game Medieval by Foundy.
  • The Nafziger Collection has added several new products, including The Turning Point: The Battle of the Somme, A History of the Indian Wars (1600-1814), Tactics and Duties for Trench Fighting, The Desert Mounted Force, War of the Bavarian Succession, and more.
  • The Terrain Guy says that many of their most popular items are on sale, and many others are 20% off. They’ve also added Easy Terrain with smooth edges, river sets and pieces, and 15mm fortifications.

  • Midnight Syndicate has released The Dead Matter through Hot Topic stores. It is a 3-disc set that includes the DVD, soundtrack CD, and Midnight Syndicate’s Halloween Music Collection.
  • Offworld Designs has added some new T-shirts including “Anime Joy” and “AvaKitty” designs.
  • Renaissance Ink has added Magnetic Bases and Metal Boxes to their product line, making it easier to transport armies of miniatures.
