Wargame News for today:

  • According to their newsletter, White Dog Games is taking reservations for Ordered to Die, a simulation of the November 1915 battle of Ctesiphon between the British and the Ottoman Empire. No payment is required, and the game is priced at $22.75 plus $5 shipping and handling. They are also developing a game about the six-year campaign waged by Wallachia, under Vlad III Draculesti (also known as Dracula) against the Ottoman Empire.
  • Avalanche Press is modifying their pre-order incentives. The site currently says that when you place an order for two items, you can have one more for free. When you place an order for three items, you can have two more free. When you order four items, you get three more three. The deal is good through August 31.
  • Capitan Games is working on a new supplement for their Napoleonic Rules Capitan. New units and officers to play the Liberation Wars of 1813 and the Campaign of France in 1814 are being worked on.
  • Consimpress has released its BEDA FOMM module for the VASSAL system.
  • Critical Hit and Moments in History has listed a number of upcoming products on their web site, slated for a release on August 31. These include several ASLComp Afrikakorps items and an Advanced Tobruk Expansion Pack #6.
  • GMT Games posted part 1 of a playtest of the Seoul Train scenario in Next War: Korea, updated BAR rules, added exclusive rules for Germantown, a VASSAL module for Conquest of Paradise, and updated the Russian Series Rules for the Musket & Pike Battle Series.
  • Imagine Image Multimedia posted new rules for a vehicle rading and urban adventure combat game called Time Driver, free historic miniatures rules called Hex Command, the War Games Archive (subscription item), and more.
  • The League of Augsburg has released a new range of 28mm metal figures for the Wars of the Grand Aliance, but which are suitable for other conflicts in the 1685-1714 era.
  • Legion Wargames said its Saipan & Tinian Cyberboard Contest ends on August 31, and that the maps, rules, and charts for the game arrived about two weeks ago.
  • Lock ‘n Load Publishing has put their Lock ‘n Load Heroes of the Faith product on P500. This brings their combat system to the war-torn hills of the Golan Heights in 1973.
  • Victory Point Games is looking for some retailers to help them sell their products.
