From the Phalanx games web site comes the following news:
Phalanx has released two games in English language only. Besides Revolution: The Dutch Revolt this was Italia by Andres Steding in October 2006.
Italia brings to life more than eleven centuries of Italian history, ranging from 330 BC to 820 AD. Italia is divided into two parts: Italia I is designed for three players, and covers the history of ancient Italy until 80 BC and the rise of the Roman Empire. Italia II is designed for four players and begins with the fall of the Western Roman Empire in 390 AD and explores the history of Italy until 820 AD. In Italia a player does not only lead one nation but several.
Italia is based on the Britannia system, however, it contains enough fresh elements. The game box contains 1 game board, 30 nation cards, 624 cardboard game pieces, 2 player aid cards, 6 dice, 2 note pads, 1 rules booklet and weighs an impressive 2.5 kilos.
Italia is excellent value for fans of the Britannia series.
