Today at Gen Con Indy, I took a few moments to have a look at The Continuum. This Internet-based game “combines classic turn-based wargaming, collectibility, and RPG character development into one multi-player adventure that will change the way you game.”

From the Continuum Lobby screen, you can chat with others, show off your awards, find new adversaries, set up or join games, etc.

From the Collection screen, you can collect and view your characters, manage their development, and buy new abilities for them. You can also arm them with weapons and objects.

From the Army Build scrren, you can build squads, armies, and so forth. This allows you to customize your forces for specific battles.

In the Game Setup screen, you negotiate the terms of the battle with your opponent. You can sort out the battle size, victory conditions, and other aspects.

From the Game Setup screen, you proceed to the Movement and Battle screens, where you maneuver your units on the battlefield and attack the enemy.

Like some of the other games at Gen Con this year, The Continuum is another “collectible” game where you pay to acquire new items in the game world.

I wasn’t able to get a demo of the game from the staff representing the game at Gen Con, so there’s not much more I can tell you about it. If you’d like to see more, visit their web site or watch their “411 video“.
